Sophie Stanton started her art world advisory company in London in 2002 and grew the business to operate in Asia, Europe and the United States, opening her second office in New York in 2012. The company of which she is now Chairman, focuses on organisational development in art galleries, museums, auction houses, arts foundations, art funds and advisory firms. She helped businesses and governments create and implement their cultural policies worldwide. She moved to Tortola in 2019.

As a collector Sophie has been nurturing and supporting young and emerging artists for 25 years, encouraging collaborations with industry and governments and creating space and giving voice to artists from all walks of life, at all stages of their careers. She hopes to be able to bring this experience to the BVI by creating a dedicated home for contemporary art through the Creative Waves Arts Hub, encouraging creativity and allowing future generations of artists to have a voice and a place in BVI life.
