Biography
The Luxury Island Architect
Shaylene Todd may have been born and raised in the city that boasts the world’s longest outdoor skating rink — Ottawa, Canada — but she swears she could hear the beach calling from an early age. After earning her degree in Psychology from Carleton University in 2005, she first visited the Caribbean in 2009, immediately felt at home, and has since built a career in what she affectionately calls “selling sunshine.”
Today, Shaylene serves as Chief Executive Officer of Moskito, where she leads the continued evolution of one of the world’s most exclusive private island destinations. Her career has taken her across Saint Lucia, Belize and the British Virgin Islands, building a reputation for people-first leadership, strong guest and homeowner relationships, and exceptional hospitality experiences. Her approach blends creativity, innovation and care, with a belief that the very best in ultra-luxury hospitality should also create meaningful cultural, community and environmental impact.
