Biography

The Trailblazing Entrepreneur

Rochelle Lawrence transitioned into the professional realms of the corporate world from a file clerk to a Senior Office Administrator, where she interacted with the company’s offices around the world and benefitted from secondments in Isle of Man.

After returning from college, she served as a Youth Employment Service Coordinator, where she helped persons between the ages of 18–29 to find jobs and gain valuable work experience. Her training portfolio for preparing youth ranged from resume building, dressing for success, first impression, self-marketing, and personal branding; with workshops that included confidence building, self-awareness, and managing work-life balance. In her spare time, she volunteered at H.M. Prison, and to date her new task is equipping every pre-teen with the tools they need to become confident and expand their knowledge.

Rochelle Lawrence is the Founder and a two-times Certified Etiquette Consultant at Pristine School of Etiquette & Protocol. Her passion for nurturing an eternal fountain of proper etiquette in people of all ages has manifested in every aspect of her personal and professional life.

Rochelle is also the visionary behind HR Solutions Limited, a company she established in 2016, where she serves as the Owner and Director. Through HR Solutions, Rochelle demonstrates her acumen for business and her commitment to providing top-notch services to her clients in the private sector.

Rochelle’s zest for life extends beyond the boardroom, as evidenced by her foray into the maritime world. In 2018, she earned her small powerboat & rib master captain license, signaling the beginning of an adventure in a male-dominated industry. Undeterred by challenges, Rochelle pursued further training to obtain her USCG 100-ton license after attending Maritime Professional Training (MPT) in Fort Lauderdale in August 2021.

Amidst the turbulence of the global pandemic in 2020, Rochelle opened her first coffee shop at Loose Mongoose. Despite the odds, she was determined to provide an international standard of coffee making in the BVI and a Brew experience. Rochelle attended Texas Coffee School, where she became a certified barista. She spends her leisure time attending coffee fests, trade shows, and visiting coffee farms.

March 15, 2023, marked another significant milestone in Rochelle’s entrepreneurial journey as she expanded her coffee shop to the T.B. Lettsome International Airport. However, her ambition and vision knew no bounds. After two years of doing market research, Rochelle made history by becoming the first new business to open a coffee shop at Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour Marina on November 3, 2024, post-pandemic.

And she achieved all of this after becoming a mother at the tender age of fifteen.

Rochelle Lawrence’s story is one of resilience, passion, and unwavering determination. Whether she’s teaching proper etiquette, leading a business venture, creating recipes, or embarking on an adventure in our beautiful waters, her impact is undeniable.
