Biography
The Governance Champion
Stephon Mactavious is a born fighter for good governance and the belief that leadership should serve people, not protect power.
Based in Road Town, Tortola, Stephon is a Chartered Director and HR Committee Certified executive who serves as a Board Director at the BVI Electricity Corporation, where he chairs the Marketing & PR and IT & Cybersecurity Subcommittees. A licensed customs broker and governance specialist, he has built a career at the intersection of business, governance, and public accountability. Most recently, he put forward a formal proposal to the Deputy Governor’s office for a territory-wide cultural risk assessment mechanism to confront toxic leadership in the public service, a campaign that has already drawn government engagement and a mandate to expand into statutory bodies and the private sector.
Stephon is also an entrepreneur, community builder, and culture bearer. He is the founder of Harbourview Brokerage & Concierge Services and Go Royal Events, and in 2017 he founded the Dream Big Group, a youth empowerment initiative that has run numerous outreach drives across the Virgin Islands, both the USVI and BVI, giving young people the tools and confidence to pursue big futures. He has also been instrumental in the preservation of Virgin Islands culture and heritage, leading major projects including the territory’s first virtual museum and the inaugural Virtual Emancipation Festival Opening Ceremony.
A former Virgin Islands Youth Parliamentarian who represented the territory at the Commonwealth Youth Parliament, Stephon has spent his career advocating for change and for what’s right, in the boardroom, in government, and in his community.
