Vanessa King is the Managing Partner of O’Neal Webster, where she leads the firm’s strategic vision and growth. A seasoned legal professional, Vanessa’s expertise spans key global financial centres, and she advises a diverse clientele that includes international and domestic financial institutions, law firms, family offices, trust companies, statutory bodies, and high-net-worth individuals.

Recognized as a thought leader in her field, Vanessa is a frequent speaker on British Virgin Islands (BVI) law, as well as on topics related to law firm management and strategy. She holds several prominent leadership roles both regionally and internationally. She currently serves as Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Caribbean and Latin America Region and is the STEP Worldwide Council Representative for the same region.

Vanessa’s expertise has been globally recognized by highly respected global ranking bodies, including The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, IFLR1000, and Citywealth IFC. She is a recipient of the prestigious STEP Founder’s Award and was named BVI Financial Services Lawyer of the Year in 2020. In 2023, she was honoured with Citywealth’s Powerwoman Gold Award – Woman of the Year.

Beyond her legal work, Vanessa is deeply committed to public service, especially in the areas of education and the environment. She dedicates substantial time to pro bono initiatives and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees at Cedar International School, the only International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the BVI. Additionally, she is the Co-Chair of GreenVI, a non-profit organisation focused on promoting sustainable practices and environmental health in the BVI, particularly in the areas of waste, energy, and water management.
